Good morning blog world,
Though we may see a little rain tomorrow, today is shaping up to be an absolutely gorgeous day in Wilmington, NC! We’re expecting highs in the mid-60′s and abundantly sunny skies – just PERFECT for enjoying a day at the beach, a walk downtown, shopping in the city, or a recreational activity at one of our local parks. (My children LOVE Hugh MacRae Park – incidentally, this is also one of the closest parks to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites.)
Today, I want to give you all a quick update about what’s currently filming, what’s soon to be filming, and what just wrapped up production in the film world at Hollywood East.

This list is not all-inclusive by any means – just a highlight of what we’ve got going on down here in Hollywood East. Now, to answer the question that our staff is most recently asked – “How do I become an extra in a film or show that’s in production here in Wilmington?” The Wilmington Regional Film Commission has a page on their web site where they’ve posted links and contact information to many of our area’s casting agencies.
We hope that this post will help all of our guests to keep a good feel for the pulse of our local movie and film industry. We’ve had a few banner years here recently, and everyone sincerely hopes that this trend will continue. It bring a Wilmingtonian great pleasure to see a locally-produced film make waves on the big screen.
